Melbourne-based distributor Agrippa has acquired the Australian distribution rights for the new Awol Vision, a premium short-focus projector designed for the custom installation market.
The latest iteration of the 4K Awol Vision Vanish projector, unveiled at CES 2023, is called "The Vanish" and consists of three separate pieces, Includes the LVV-3500 ultra short focal laser projector, 100 or 120-inch rolling curtains and a smart cabinet with built-in 36-watt speakers.
Another company looking to enter the Australian short focus laser market is global camera company Leica, which is expected to enter the market in the second half of the year. They are currently looking for a national sales director.

The new Aqipa product also features three built-in projectors that deliver 3,500 NASI lumens and more than 1 billion colors. It is also compatible with 4K video, HDR 10+, and dynamic 3D. According to Chris Scott, Aqipa's general manager, the new product is actually capable of projecting images up to 150 inches long. The all-in-one solution comes in two versions with a screen size limit of 100 "or 120".
In the U.S., the entry-level price is about $4,600 or A $6,926, while the total package costs A $22,900. That could lead to prices in Australia of around $30,000.
