On June 15th, Nuburu, a high-power and high-brightness industrial blue laser technology company in the United States, announced the launch of a 1kW, high-brightness blue laser - BL-1000-F. This device will be aimed at large-scale and rapidly growing electric vehicle battery production, metal 3D printing, and consumer electronics market applications.
This expansion will increase the laser power of the BL product line from 250W to 1000W. Higher power can bring higher speed, micron level accuracy, and repeatable high-quality welding, which are key advantages that enable it to meet the needs of the mass commercial market more efficiently.
Dr. Mark Zediker, CEO and co-founder of Nuburu, said, "Our customer feedback indicates that the BL-1000-F blue laser will provide a convincing solution that combines speed and welding quality, which will greatly enhance our customer's manufacturing capabilities in major markets such as welding, metal additive 3D printing, and consumer electronics
The Nuburu BL-1000-F can provide these next-generation upgrade features mainly due to its ability to utilize higher metal absorption of blue light. When combined with a scanner, BL-1000-F can achieve key advantages such as high speed and conduction mode welding accuracy, while meeting the quality and process stability requirements that are crucial to customers, and reducing their total cost of ownership.
The higher power provided by BL-1000-F can generate higher quality laser beams. The improvement in quality in this regard enables BL-1000-F to more effectively weld and process metals with high reflectivity compared to traditional infrared lasers, as well as other metals widely used in the manufacturing of electric vehicle batteries and 3D metal printing.
It is reported that Nuburu will showcase its BL-500-F and BL-1000-F devices at the Laser World of Photonics in Munich on June 27, 2023.
