According to the latest news, SCANLAB, the world's leading scanning solutions provider, will present its latest innovations at the Optoelectronics Fair 2023 in Munich, Germany. The company will showcase the powerful intelliSCAN IV series and SCANmotionControl software, which take laser process control to a new level of precision and flexibility.
intelliSCAN IV Series - Compact, high-performance scan head
The new intelliSCAN IV series sets the standard in terms of compactness, performance and integration. Due to the reduced size and integrated water cooling, they offer greater stability than the previous generation version and a 20% improvement in dynamic ratio.
intelliSCAN IV is characterized by easy integration into a wide range of system concepts. The housing is dust and water resistant to IP66 levels and includes an interlocking connection for integration into the security circuit. An outstanding feature of this product is the novel cooling concept. The housing incorporates water cooling channels to ensure optimal temperature stability for galvanometer scanners, beam entrances and electronics.
The new scan head is compatible with all SCANLAB RTC driver boards. Users can choose between classic scanner controls with error tracking capabilities or SCANahead controls known from the excelliSCAN family to take advantage of the full dynamic potential of the scan head.
In addition, intelliSCAN IV works perfectly with SCANmotionControl, a new software offering unprecedented process control while minimizing processing time.
SCANmotionControl - Advanced laser process control
SCANmotionControl is trajectory planning software designed for scanning systems to accurately track dynamic limit setpoints. By simultaneously adjusting laser power and scanning speed, SCANmotionControl provides superior process control and maximizes throughput. The software ensures the precise application of laser energy, maintaining the defined intensity at the desired location and time. In addition, the inclusion of simulation and parameter optimization significantly reduces process development time.
The new software can be integrated with excelliSCAN and intelliSCAN IV systems. Especially in demanding applications, such as additive manufacturing, the combination of scanning heads and software enables precise and highly dynamic motion in sync with the laser. In essence, these solutions are attractive to customers who require the highest quality and highest productivity.
Extended modular portfolio, flexible scanning solutions
Georg Hofner, CEO of SCANLAB, stressed: "Our customers want solutions tailored to their needs and they value our wide selection of scanning systems. intelliSCAN IV is an attractive addition to our portfolio, and with our innovative SCANmotionControl software, we have added a new dimension to SCANLAB's modular system."
Christian Sonner, Chief Technology Officer at SCANLAB, added: "Our product innovations are the result of strong team work. We are delighted that SCANmotionControl software has been nominated for the 2023 Photonics Innovation Award. We know that our flexible combination of scanning solutions is important to our customers, and all future scanning heads will be ready for SCANmotionControl."
