Recently, Han's laser publicly stated that the laser transfer technology developed by the company does not select the process line, and is applied to perc, TOPCON, IBC, hjt and other battery processes. The company's laser transfer technology has obvious advantages in saving silver paste, improving efficiency and reducing debris rate.

Prior to this, Deere laser also publicly said that the company's laser transfer equipment has been delivered to three companies as single line or whole line mass production equipment, and is currently being verified. Deere laser has researched and developed laser printing related technologies for many years, and found that the advantages of laser transfer printing are very obvious, mainly because the grid line of laser transfer printing is thinner, so the slurry is saved more. Low temperature silver paste is also applicable. Laser transfer printing is non-contact printing, which can avoid the problems of hidden cracks, fragments, pollution, scratches and so on in extrusion printing.

Laser transfer technology is a new alternative technology for electrode metallization of photovoltaic cells. The process of laser transfer printing includes two stages: one is to fill the transparent carrier plate with special designed grooves with slurry, and then apply the principle of laser irradiation to make the contact surface between the slurry and the carrier plate evaporate first to generate vapor pressure, so that the slurry and the carrier plate are separated and fall on the surface of the photovoltaic cell sheet to form grid lines.

Laser transfer printing can be applied to a variety of battery technology routes, and its technology is highly versatile. First, it has no selectivity for the slurry type (silver paste, silver coated copper) and second, it has no selectivity for battery technology. It can be used on perc, TOPCON, IBC and hjt.

As a new alternative technology for electrode metallization, laser transfer printing can bring significant economic benefits to downstream battery customers without increasing the investment in production line equipment. It has broad prospects for industrial application in the future, especially for n-type batteries.
