2023-12-04If the laser module was drawing more current than the power supply could handle then it may have become damaged over time. There’s also the danger that your controller is not capable of handling the current draw. Check max rating current draw for the controller and make sure it’s well above what the laser module demands. Furthermore, calculate overall current requirements for the entire system and make sure your power supply is adequate to provide that much power. I’d suggest estimating around 2A for just the controller and stepper motors, then add the rated draw for the laser module, then add a buffer. That will be the required amperage for the power supply. It may be easier to supply power to the laser module separately with a dedicated power supply rather than trying to power everything through the controller. Are you on a 12V or 24V system?
