The auxiliary gases that can be used by the laser cutting machine mainly include oxygen, nitrogen, air and argon.
1. Laser cutting will generate a lot of heat. If such high heat is concentrated together, the material at the cutting place will burn, which will lead to oxidation reaction, and it is also easy to deform the workpiece. Therefore, we need to add some auxiliary gases, such as oxygen, air and nitrogen.
2. We should choose nitrogen when processing stainless steel. Nitrogen can prevent the oxidation reaction of the cut, so that the cut will not blacken. High purity nitrogen shall be selected.
3. If it is to process carbon steel plates, oxygen should be selected. Oxygen is mainly used to support combustion, which can speed up the processing of workpieces. Of course, the purity of oxygen should be as high as possible.
4. We can also choose air for some processing that is not very precise, because the use cost of air is low, and it also has a great auxiliary role.
5. In addition to the above functions, these auxiliary gases have many common functions. These gases can blow away the slag generated during cutting, protect the lens, prevent the slag from sticking to the lens, and prolong the service life of the lens. Air and nitrogen can also cool the cutting head.
