The production and manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries include three parts: electrode manufacturing, cell manufacturing, and battery assembly. Adding laser cleaning in three processes can greatly improve the level of battery manufacturing technology.
1. Laser cleaning before electrode coating
The positive and negative electrode plates of lithium batteries are coated with lithium battery positive and negative electrode materials on a metal strip. When the metal strip is coated with electrode materials, it needs to be cleaned. The metal strip is generally aluminum or copper thin. The original wet ethanol cleaning can easily cause damage to other parts of the lithium battery. The laser dry cleaning machine can effectively solve the above problems.
2. Laser cleaning before battery welding
Using pulsed laser direct radiation for cleaning, the surface temperature is increased and thermal expansion occurs. Thermal expansion causes pollutants or substrates to vibrate, allowing pollutants to overcome surface adsorption and detach from the substrate surface, thus achieving the goal of removing surface stains on objects. This method can effectively remove dirt, dust, and other debris from the end face of the battery cell pole, preparing for battery welding in advance to reduce welding defects.
3. Laser cleaning during battery assembly process
In order to prevent safety accidents in lithium batteries, it is generally necessary to apply external adhesive treatment to the battery cells to provide insulation, prevent short circuits, protect the circuit, and prevent scratches. Laser cleaning of insulation boards and end plates to clean the surface of the battery cells from dirt, roughen the surface of the battery cells, improve the adhesion of adhesive or coating, and do not produce harmful pollutants after cleaning. This is an environmentally friendly green cleaning method, which is increasingly important in the context of global environmental protection.
