Polarizing film is a special thin film material, also known as polarizing film. Polarizing film is an optical component that can convert light into polarized light. Its principle is to absorb light with a vibration direction perpendicular to the transmission axis of the polarizing film, so that only light with a vibration direction parallel to the transmission axis of the polarizing film can pass through, thereby forming polarized light.
The application range of polarizing film is very wide. In liquid crystal displays, there are two polarizing films tightly attached to the liquid crystal glass in front and behind the liquid crystal, forming a liquid crystal film with a total thickness of about 1mm. The light emitted by the liquid crystal needs to pass through the polarizing film to be converted into a normal image. If the polarizing film is removed, the light emitted by the liquid crystal appears as a white light to the human eye.
Polarizers not only convert light into polarized light, but also have applications in reducing reflection, increasing color saturation, improving visual clarity and comfort. Therefore, in addition to LCD displays, polarizers can also be used to make glasses, medical testing instruments, airplane windows, and other fields.
After the production of polarizing film is completed, it needs to be cut before it can be used on specific products. Laser cutting is one of the main processing methods for cutting polarizing film. Depending on the processing requirements in different scenarios, the control system used for polarizing film laser cutting will also vary:
Small scale polarizer processing: Small scale polarizer processing does not require special control systems, and can be completed using a regular laser cutting control system.
Large scale polarizer processing: Large scale polarizer processing is mainly used in medium-sized and above factory workshops, requiring conveyor and processing through assembly lines. To ensure efficiency and accuracy, laser control systems with visual recognition functions are required for this type of processing. If the polarizer has a large surface area, a specialized visual laser control system for large surface laser processing is also needed.
Precision laser processing of polarizing film: Precision laser cutting of polarizing film requires very high hardware and software requirements, so the control system also needs to use a precision laser cutting control system specifically designed for high-precision processing. In addition, some precision laser processing will use ultrafast lasers, which also require specialized control systems.
In general, the type of laser control system used for polarizing film laser processing is mainly determined by its own processing needs and specific equipment conditions. In addition to processing polarizing films, this type of laser control system can also be used for laser cutting of most thin films and polymer materials.
