Probably is a dumb question, but is there a simple way if stopping knives on the laser bed from falling inwards when u take honeycomb in and out. Had to replace my knives and holder. Have tried hot gluing tabs on ends where the knives seat but they fall off after a week ot so.

Wow that would drive me insane! I’d put a strip of steel this side and I assume at the back of at least 3mm (or 1/4 inch) thick at the end of the knives to hold them in place. I’d get anodised steel, drill holes in the strip and into the existing comb that holds the knives then tap them so they hold a bolt.

It’s more common for a knife bed to be a sort of frame of angle steel rather than just the comb to hold them but honestly, with 15 years in the laser business I’ve rarely seen 2 machines with the same parts.

      More like this.

      • : Yep. Was already onto that b4 i saw your message. I thought about temporary solutions but then i have to redo it eventually anyway. So i went with builders strap on the outsides… fall out now lol.

      • : That’ll work! Sometimes my favorite part of getting new lasers is fixing all the little things to make a cheap machine better. I spend more time modifying machines than using them
