02-06It sounds like you're dealing with an issue where the "Longer" laser cutter is not stopping when it reaches the homing position, and instead is vibrating off the sidebars. This can be a few things, but based on your description, it might be related to either a hardware calibration issue or a setting in the software that controls the homing procedure. Here are a few steps to try and resolve the issue: 1. Check for Physical Obstructions or Loose Components: - Ensure that nothing is obstructing the motion of the laser head and that the rails are smooth and free of debris. - Check if the laser head or other moving parts are securely attached. Sometimes, loose parts can cause erratic movements. 2. Check for Limit Switches or Sensors: - Some laser cutters have limit switches that prevent the laser from overshooting. Even though you don't see any sensors, it's possible they are placed out of sight or hidden behind other parts. These switches could be malfunctioning or misaligned. - If you can locate the position of the limit switches (often near the extreme ends of the axis), check to ensure they're properly connected and not blocked or damaged. 3. Homing Settings in Software: - In the software (like LaserGRBL, LightBurn, or another laser control program), check the homing configuration. There might be a setting that dictates the homing behavior, such as "homing speed" or "endstop behavior." - Sometimes, setting the homing speed too high can cause the machine to overshoot, causing the head to vibrate or crash into the side. Try lowering the homing speed if there’s an option to do so. - If you have a specific brand or software in mind, I can guide you through the exact settings to adjust. 4. Firmware Check: - Ensure that the firmware is up-to-date. In some cases, the firmware might have a bug affecting homing, and updating it could resolve the issue. 5. Recalibrate Home Position: - Sometimes, the machine can lose track of its reference point after moving the components. If the machine has an option to recalibrate or re-set its home position, try running that process to reset the axes. 6. Contact Customer Support: - If none of the above steps work, it could be a more technical issue that requires specific troubleshooting. In that case, reaching out to Longer’s customer support might be helpful as they’ll have a better understanding of specific issues related to your model. Let me know what software or settings you're using, and I can try to give you more tailored advice!

: Start by finding out where the machine’s home is and whether LightBurn is set to it. Look for limit switches, typically they are in the lower left corner. In the picture are the settings as they are on the Longer I have been running, it doesn’t have to be the same as yours, be careful. ps. There should be a settings file on the included USB stick.
