I am looking for help with my Ruida 6445G Controller. The problem is the Z Axis. I have tried multiple options. Trying to get the Z Axis to show me in mm the actual length is not happening.
For 100mm on the Controller is only about 4mm movement. I tried using the Auto calculations of Entering this information and the stepper was set at 0.2 which the stepper motor just slipped.
The lowest i went to was 2 without slipping but still did not show me the actual mm's, I changed the Max distance to 250 mm and the bed did not go down very far before it stopped but still showing so many mm's for very small movement.

This still wanted to show the max distance as 3000 mms and not 250mm

Lastly when I put auto focus the bed rises to the sensor and stops then it makes 0 the correct place but then still carries on until it reaches the lowest positions and then stops, I have to raise the bed back to zero before i can use it correctly. It never used to do this but I have not had a working tube for 1 year and just received it. I must be missing a setting for this.
Any advise or help would be appreciated. Thank you

This is with 100mm of actual movement. I tried the width as 250 but set it back to 6000 to get the full range of 250 mm.

        • : the mainpoint is the steplengh. it should be correct. you can check as following: 1 Connect the controller with PC sucessfully 2 Go to Software control table on the right side of software:<TEST> ,set the offset to be 20mm 3 then take a ruler on Z in order to measure the actual distance of Nozzle. remember the nozzle start postion on the ruler. 4 Then click the Z+ button, Z axis will go up or go down. rementer the nozzle positon on the ruler.

        • : 5 the distance between the 2 postions is the actual movement distance. do not forget the set distance is 20mm 6Go to Vendor setting in the software, click right button beside the steplen, there should pop up a dialog. you shoul input the actuall distance and the set distance. click OK 7 You will see the steplengh will be changed. Click <write> to write the parameters to the controller. never forget this step! 8 Move the Z axis again to check if the distance is the same between set and actual.

        • : This I did before and got a reading of 0.2 which made the machine stall Seems like I should adjust the accelerate number to stop it stalling. Thank you

Hello, I don't know what your machine structure is, but your Z axis is up and down by default. Is your Z axis 6000 wide up and down?In addition, if your Z-axis moving distance is not correct, either the first step is the wrong step, or the first step is your motor stepper driver. The first step is to reduce the takeoff speed by a little, and then there is a dial code for your Z-axis stepper motor. Not yet. You can send a video to my mailbox. I can check your operation actions and debugging actio

            • : Yes the z- axis is up and down , The z-axis should be around 255 mm . I will make a video and send to your mailbox or should I put the video on youtube and send you the link ? . Mailbox do not like videos. Thank you

            • : Chanelink also has a video area. You can directly upload it here and send a link to him?

            • : Thank you , I uploaded the video and its waiting for review

After changing the step counts you will need to reduce the acceleration and the speed to avoid slipping on the Z.
