Recently, Refined Laser Systems, an active biophotonics company headquartered in Germany, announced that it had obtained 2.7 million euros of financing. The company is currently focusing on cutting-edge laser systems for SRS microscopy and quantum technology.

This round of financing is led by High-Tech Gr ü nderfounds and APEX Ventures. The investors include NRW.BANK, Onsight Ventures, Papst Venture Capital, Tom Merk, Hans-Michael Hauser and Dr. Werner Falkenstein.

It is reported that the company plans to use this fund to develop a prototype of intraoperative microscope, which can directly identify the tumor edge in the operating room, and diagnose in a few minutes with the help of remote pathologists and artificial intelligence. The team also plans to use the funds to expand the team size and prepare for clinical approval.

Established by Max Brinkmann, Tim Hellwig and Christoph Seidenst ü cker in 2019, Refined Laser Systems is an enterprise derived from the University of M ü nster. Its core expertise is the development of laser and microscope technology.

The company has developed an innovative microscope program, which can quickly carry out pathological detection of cancer in a few minutes without time-consuming and laborious repeated detection. Its PICUS DUO and PICUS Q laser systems are used globally as key components of CARS/SRS microscopes and quantum technology. They are designed with all-fiber structure, without water cooling and vibration isolation, and are easy to integrate into equipment (such as portable microscopes and optical fiber endoscope).
