I’m trying to find the right settings to engrave this image on my diode laser with the latest version of lightburn.

Before switching to light burn to control my diode laser, I was using a very generic laser control software called “laser engrave”.
With that software, I was able to get precisely what I was looking for as shown on the attached photo.

I can’t find the right settings to produce the same with the newly installed light burn software.
One thing that seems to be an issue is that I cannot get the engraving speed to a high enough level.
I was expecting light burn to do this job without any trouble, please advise as to what I am doing wrong.

If you want a lighter colored engraving, you may just want to change the speed/power settings. There are lots of settings and I can’t tell you which ones may be right without knowing current settings, seeing a picture of what you feel is wrong and knowing which way you would like to go with your work.

        • : If you want a darker image and more contrast, treating the board with a baking soda and water solution can help that. It will however make it a necessity to start again with speed and power settings because it’s very effective at darkening the dark parts without removing much material.
