Recently, Laser Photonics Corporation (LPC) claims to have successfully secured an order from ES Fox Limited to provide them with the CleanTech 500-CTHD laser cleaning system.

ES Fox Limited, founded in 1934, is recognized as a leader in the industrial manufacturing and construction industry in Canada. Its nuclear service department has invested millions of hours to support the nuclear power industry in Ontario.

It is understood that the system will be used for a nuclear power plant project in Ontario, Canada, Bruce Power is the largest nuclear power plant operator in North America. And becoming an early adopter in this field stems from its profound understanding of the safety and efficiency of nuclear facility maintenance. Laser cleaning technology has been proven to be a safer and more efficient maintenance method.

The purchase of LPC's Clean Tech 500-CTHD laser cleaning equipment will be used during Bruce Power's Vacuum Building Outage (VBO) program starting in April this year. The plan will temporarily shut down four nuclear power units of Bruce B Company for renovation to ensure that the power company and its partners can safely and successfully carry out the required maintenance and inspection work.

Vacuum buildings are unique to Bruce Power nuclear power plants, providing additional protective barriers to prevent the release of radioactive materials into the environment. All four operating units must be shut down approximately every ten years for vacuum building inspection and maintenance.

Bruce Power believes that the current industry should shift from traditional sandblasting methods to laser cleaning methods. Laser cleaning utilizes the characteristics of high energy, high density, controllable beam direction, and strong convergence ability of lasers to destroy the binding force between pollutants and the substrate or directly vaporize pollutants for decontamination, reduce the bonding strength between pollutants and the substrate, and thus achieve the purpose of cleaning the surface of workpieces.

LPC's Clean Tech laser cleaning equipment allows for selective layer stripping without causing damage to the substrate and underlying materials, nor does it require chemicals or additives, which can minimize secondary waste and reduce operator health risks.

And on May 21st, LPC announced the launch of a new generation upgraded version of CleanTech laser cleaning equipment. The updated CleanTech series features a mobile connection for remote monitoring and control, a new compact form factor for scanning heads, and intelligent overheating protection that enhances safety. It is not difficult to see that at present, LPC is ready to enter different segmented markets with the help of the new generation technology.
