Snapmaker introduces "Ray" laser cutting and engraving machine

Snapmaker has introduced the Snapmaker Ray Series: laser cutters and engravers utilizing OEM's new laser modules.

The laser module is available in 20W and 40W versions and features a "focus bar" for laser calibration and built-in air assistance, which the user can control via Luban (Snapmaker's free and open source software).

Both machines in the Ray series have a 400 x 600 mm working area and can be lifted using the included cylindrical legs to allow processing of items up to 160 mm thick.

In addition, the numerically milled "industrial-grade" linear guide improves stability and accuracy, and the "dust-proof" steel strip further increases durability. At the same time, the optional housing removes smoke and dust with an exhaust fan and has a door detection sensor that automatically stops the laser if the door is opened at work.

When the Ray series opens for pre-order on August 22, interested buyers will have four options: 20W or 40W machines with or without a case. Snapmaker says all orders during the pre-order period are eligible for up to $400 off, but exact pricing is unclear.
