Vast's Haven-1 program will become the world's first commercial space station, equipped with SpaceX's Starlink laser terminal, providing connections to its crew users, internal payload racks, external cameras, and instruments at speeds of gigabits per second and low latency.

Max Haot, CEO of Vast, said: "If you need to provide high-speed, low latency, and continuous Internet connection on the orbital space station in 2025, SpaceX Starlink is the only choice." "We expect their network and technology leadership will continue and accelerate over time, which is why we are happy to have the opportunity to cooperate with SpaceX to deploy their first laser connection for the space station."

The staff of Haven-1 will be able to connect their personal devices to the Starlink network through Wi Fi, and have an unprecedented better Internet connection on the track to host outreach video calls, and conduct experiments and scientific research through comprehensive, high-speed Internet access. Even during the crew's break time, they can use high-speed Internet.

Stephanie Bednarek, Senior Director of Commercial Sales at SpaceX, said, "Providing high-speed, low latency connections in orbit for astronauts and critical scientific research is crucial for any space station experience." "We are pleased that Vast's Haven-1 has become the first commercial space station to maintain contact with the star chain."

Vast and SpaceX have reached an agreement that SpaceX will provide star chain connectivity for future Vast platforms outside of Haven 1, including connectivity for Vast's next space station. The company plans to bid for the space station in NASA's upcoming Commercial Near Earth Orbit Destination (CLD) competition.

In May 2023, Vast announced that SpaceX would launch Haven-1, followed by two manned space missions to the Haven-1 space station.
The new partnership between Vast and SpaceX will continue to create and accelerate more convenient space exploration, as well as more exploration opportunities on the human journey across planets.
