Recently, Amada weld tech Inc., a Japanese supplier of welding and cutting solutions, grandly launched a new wl-300a precision laser welding workstation, which is equipped with advanced continuous wave (CW) or quasi continuous wave (QCW) fiber lasers. It has a wide range of applications, especially for metal welding and processing of selected plastic materials, especially in the aerospace field.

Wl-300a laser welding workstation integrates laser, motion control, camera, process monitor and various accessories. As a CDRH level 1 workstation, it is designed for small to medium batch production environment to support operators to load and unload parts directly. It is a scaled down version of Amada's Delta workstation series, based on the wl-p300a compact platform design and highly customizable. It also has a robotic arm in a separate housing for computers and displays.

The workstation comes standard with an air cooled continuous wave or QCW fiber laser and is integrated directly into the base. In addition, it can also be matched with a floor mounted lf model laser to achieve seamless integration and operation.
Beam transmission is realized through an efficient eddy current scanning head, and the lens specifications are 163 mm (70 mm x 70 mm) and 330 mm (188 mm x 188 mm) to meet different needs.

Up to four motion axes can be configured in the workstation and controlled by marking the motion. Among them, Z axis, as the standard configuration of all models, has a travel of 200 mm; XY table travel is 150 mm x 150 mm. The rotation phase offers a variety of options, the most common of which is a 1:1 belt drive.

In addition, the off axis camera system is used as standard to monitor the welding area in real time; On axis camera viewing is optional. Other optional accessories include welding monitoring kits, gas knives and cover gas modules, providing users with a more comprehensive solution.
The wl-300a is also equipped with a mounting base plate with an M6 threaded hole pattern to make it easy for users to secure parts. At the same time, the smoke extraction port is equipped with a flexible tube to effectively eliminate harmful smoke generated in the process of laser welding.
In terms of welding capacity, wl-300a workstation supports a variety of welding types, including spot welding, spiral welding, swing welding and seam welding, providing users with flexible processing options.

In terms of software functions, the workstation is equipped with a powerful and user friendly windows 11 compatible job editor, supports CAD vector file import tools, provides multilingual support and advanced DXF filters for process optimization. In addition, it is equipped with password protected security locking function to ensure safe operation.
