It is reported that Mycronic's "Pattern Generators" department provides mask writers for display manufacturing and semiconductor production. So far, Mycronic's display mask writer has been equipped with a gas laser, while the SLX semiconductor mask writer has been equipped with a solid-state laser, which consumes 99% less energy than a gas laser.

Previously, it faced the challenge of finding a solid-state laser solution to produce larger display masks, which has now been successfully resolved. The transition to solid-state lasers is an important step for Mycronic in reducing climate impacts throughout its product lifecycle.

Charlotte Samuelsson, Senior Vice President of Mycronic Pattern Generators, said, "Although solid-state laser upgrades will not make a significant contribution to Mycronic's net sales, they are a milestone for us towards sustainable and climate friendly electronic product production. We are pleased to be part of SK Electronics' efforts to achieve sustainable manufacturing by reducing its impact on the climate.
