Chain drive. "It appeared very early in ancient China, and there were already bronze chains on horses in the Shang Dynasty. Other bronze and jade articles also used chains as decorations.". The bronze chariots of the Qin Dynasty unearthed in Xi'an have very exquisite metal chains. But none of this is considered a chain drive. As a power transmission chain, it appeared in the Eastern Han Dynasty.
