On April 14, Hesai Technology announced the official release of the latest vehicle gauge level ultra-thin long-range lidar for the mass production market of ADAS front loading: ET25. At the same time, on the day of release, Hesai officially announced that it had reached strategic cooperation with Fuyao Group to jointly promote the landing application of ET25 front-loading mass production scheme.
ET25 is a lidar product named after its height, ET meaning Extremely Thin, with a body only 25 mm high. As an in-cabin lidar designed to be placed behind the front windshield, the ET25 offers automakers more lidar onboard possibilities. The installation on the rear side of the windshield "unlocks" a smoother overall body design without affecting body drag.
In addition, the cabin design allows the ET25 to timely clean the radar field with the help of the vehicle wiper without additional cleaning plan in case of dirt, rain and fog, ensuring stable and reliable performance of the lidar in more scenarios.
According to the report, the ET25 is thin but powerful, low power and low noise, and a special windshield makes it possible to integrate inside the cabin.
