Pittsburgh, April 28, 2023 -- Aerotech Inc., a global leader in precision motion control and automation. Continuously developing new products and features for the Automation1 precision machine and motion control platform. Its latest products include new servomotor drivers with integrated motion controllers and several advanced features.
"Automation1 continues to bring exciting products to the precision motion control space," said Patrick Wheeler, Aerotech Control product Manager. Aerotech's innovative approach to product development makes precision motion control more accessible to more customers and applications."
Recent advances in the Automation1 motion control platform include:
· Servo Drivers with integrated motion controllers -- Two new servo motor drivers integrate motion controllers to control 12 axes at a frequency of 20 kHz via the glass fiber HyperWire motion bus. Automation1-iXC6e is a compact single-axis amplifier servo driver and Automation1-IXc6e is a high power PWM servo motor driver. The iXL2e demonstrates industry-leading positioning stability and small length operation, and it produces extremely low EMI noise. iXC6e is suitable for larger loads requiring high power output, including the 480 VAC (680 VDC bus voltage) option.
· Automation1 MachineApps HMI Builder (Windows PC) -- With MachineApps, machine and system manufacturers can create machine HMI for each deployed Automation1 motion controller. New features include enhanced layout flexibility through drag-and-drop controls, indicators, and better status-machine control. With MachineApps, users can apply their brand to their own HMI. The button and indicator functions work with the AeroScript programming language, allowing users to develop library functions that operators can use through buttons.
· Gantry configuration support -- Automation1 motion control platform makes the configuration of Cartesian direct drive gantry easier than ever before. In the Automation1 device catalog, the user can configure gantry frames for decoupling (linear, θ) control or current instruction coupling control, and then add them as "mechanical devices," which can be set using the Machine Setup wizard. This learnable, repeatable process enables precision machinery manufacturers to acquire advanced gantry control technology.
· Improved controller features -- Automation1 driver based controllers can now be set to control driver speed or current instructions using analog inputs, including positive velocity feedback and positive acceleration feedback. The Automation1 controller now responds to streaming AeroScript commands in a first-in, first-out program called a "command queue" mode.
· Get Features early -- Aerotech continues to release beta features to the market so that customers can try them early and provide feedback that can influence feature development. The current beta features include work Offset, EtherCAT Distributed Clock, and MachineApps Touch elements.
