Yamazaki Mazak, a machine tool processing solution provider headquartered in Japan, recently announced that two laser processing machines for cutting pipes and metal sheets, FG-400 NEO and OPTIPLEX 3015 NEO 15 kW, will be launched at EuroBLECH, held in Hanover, Germany, from October 25 to 28.

FG-400 NEO

It is reported that FG-400 NEO can run multiple processes on one machine, including 3D cutting, slag tapping, drilling, chamfering and flow drilling, thus simplifying the production process and improving performance.

The system is very suitable for processing large size pipes and tubes, including round, square and rectangular sections, as well as H, I and L beams. The new 3D laser head, combined with a-axis, b-axis and fiber laser technology, can stably process complex shapes and highly reflective materials, such as copper, brass, etc. In addition, the 4-chuck system provides additional stability by preventing material deformation during processing.

To complement the machine, Mazak has developed a complete set of Quality of Life (QOL) functions, including part nesting, tool simulation and tool path monitor, to speed up setup time and achieve continuous production.

OPTIPLEX 3015 NEO 15 kW

OPTIMEX 3015 NEO 15 kW is the latest product of OPTIMEX 2D laser cutting machine series. Thanks to the successful combination of MAZATROL SmoothLx CNC control, MCT3 cutting head and rich customization options, the machine provides highly accurate and precise sheet metal processing.

Benefiting from highly automated features, the device can provide faster setup times (up to 95% compared to standard laser machines), including automatic nozzle change, as well as automatic focus detection and positioning, thereby improving ease of use and optimizing perforation performance.

The large front door and side door expand the operable working area and simplify the loading and unloading operation. The nozzle auto centering camera displays the nozzle position on the CNC screen, allowing the operator to adjust the torch, while the nesting function automatically determines how to arrange the parts to optimally cut the residual material.

automation

The OPTIPLEX 3015 NEO 15 kW displayed on EuroBLECH will be equipped with a CST 3015 automation system with a single tower mounted above the laser tray changer. This CST 3015 automation system has eight independent pallets, each with a load capacity of 3000 kg. A suction based raw material loading system is deployed, as well as a double support fork group for unloading the processing workpiece.

Sustainable design

The two machines on display at EuroBLECH 2022 both use Yamazaki Mazak's revolutionary laser beam shaping and optical fiber technology. The cutting quality is achieved by controlling the power density concentration of the laser beam, and a wide range of different materials and thicknesses can be accommodated by adjusting the diameter and shape of the laser beam.

Optical fiber technology can significantly reduce cost and save energy (energy saving efficiency can reach 60% compared with previous models), while providing excellent cutting speed and quality, no matter thick or thin materials.
