ECI and PCI advantages

1. ECI:
1) No need to rely on industrial computers, which can reduce the configuration requirements of PCs and reduce the volume of industrial computers;
2) No need to install PCI drivers, one network cable solves the problem;
3) Regardless of the number of axes, all products call a set of API functions;
4) No need for PCI adapter cables and wiring boards, convenient wiring, and easier troubleshooting;
5) For environments with poor conditions, industrial computers are prone to dust accumulation over time, and PCI gold fingers are prone to poor contact;

2. PCIe:
1) Communicate with PC through internal bus, with high real-time performance;
2) Accepted by most engineers in the market and has formed usage habits;

Disadvantages of ECI and PCI
1. ECI:
1) The communication speed between ECI and PC via Ethernet cable is lower than that of PCI;
2) The crystal head of the Ethernet cable is not very good, which can easily lead to poor contact and communication disconnection;
3) Connecting a PC and a gigabit camera through a switch will result in bandwidth being hijacked, affecting communication speed.

2. PCIe:
1) Industrial computers require PCI slots, large size, and high configuration requirements;
2) PCI driver installation is required, and the operation is quite complicated;
3) Requires adapter cables and terminal boards, which are prone to poor contact and difficult to troubleshoot if problems arise;
4) Due to device vibration or environmental issues, PCI slots are prone to loosening or poor contact, resulting in the problem of not being able to locate PCI.
