1. The DC servo motor used as a DC servo motor usually has a separate DC power supply in the winding and armature winding fields. This control can be archived by controlling the armature current or excitation current. Magnetic field control includes some special advantages over armature control. Similarly, armature control also has some advantages over excitation control. According to the application, control should be applied to DC servo motors. Due to low armature inductance, DC servo motors provide very accurate and fast response to start or stop command signals. DC servo motors are used in similar equipment and computer numerical control machines.

2. AC servo motor is an AC motor that includes an encoder and is used in conjunction with a controller to provide closed-loop control and feedback. This motor can be placed with high precision or precisely controlled according to the requirements of the application. These motors typically have higher tolerance designs or better bearings, and some simple designs also use higher voltages to achieve greater torque. The application of AC motors mainly involves automation, robotics, CNC machinery, and other applications that require high precision and multifunctionality.

3. Position rotation servo motor is the most common type of servo motor. The o/p rotation of the axis is about 180 degrees. It includes a physical stop located in the gear mechanism to stop rotation beyond these limits and protect the rotation sensor. These common servos involve wireless control of water, wireless control of cars, airplanes, robots, toys, and many other applications.

4. Continuous rotation servo motor is closely related to common position rotation servo motor, but it can move infinitely in any direction. The control signal, rather than setting the static position of the servo, is understood as the speed and direction of rotation. The range of potential commands causes the servo system to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise according to preference at varying speeds based on the command signal. If you are riding on a robot, this type of motor is used for radar antennas, or you can use one motor as the driving motor for a mobile robot.

5. Linear servo motor is also similar to the position rotation servo motor discussed above, but with an additional set of gears to change the o/p from circular to forward and backward. These servo motors are not easy to find, but sometimes you can find them in hobby shops, and they are used as actuators for higher models of aircraft.
