There are various types of paper materials with different characteristics. For example, commonly used printing materials such as news paper, copperplate paper, and offset printing paper have the characteristics of softness and good ink absorption. Packaging materials such as kraft paper and corrugated paper have the characteristics of tough texture and high strength. These paper materials are ubiquitous in daily life and are one of the most widely used materials.

laser cutting

Laser cutting is one of the main methods for high-precision processing of paper. In paper processing, laser cutting has advantages such as high precision, high efficiency, smooth cutting, and strong flexibility. Laser cutting processing is very intelligent. Simply import the pattern into the control system to automatically complete the paper cutting process. However, for better processing results, there are still several points to note:

1. Power setting: Paper is a highly flammable material, but the thermal sensitivity of different papers varies. It is necessary to adjust the laser power according to the material and thickness of the paper. Excessive laser power can easily lead to overburning problems, but too low a temperature can also cause cutting problems. Therefore, the power setting must be appropriate.

2. Speed control: In laser cutting processing, speed and power are two interdependent parameters. When the power is high, the processing speed should be increased to avoid accumulating excessive heat in a certain area; When the power is low, the processing speed should be reduced to avoid being too fast to melt the material and complete the cutting.

3. Paper flatness: Most paper materials are very soft, so when feeding and placing them, attention should be paid to keeping the paper flat and avoiding bending and wrinkling, otherwise it will affect the cutting accuracy. At the same time, the surface should be clean and dry, free of impurities such as oil and dust, to avoid affecting the absorption of laser energy and cutting quality.

4. Focus position: The focus position of the laser can be selected from three options: above the surface of the material, on the surface of the material, or inside the material. When cutting paper, the focus position is generally set on the surface of the paper or slightly below the surface, and should not be too high or too low, because the laser beam is a tapered fiber with a very small angle. If the focus is too high or too low, it will cause the cutting seam to become larger, affecting the processing effect.

Overall, laser cutting of paper materials is not difficult and can usually achieve good processing results. However, we still need to be careful in actual production to avoid wasting materials and increasing working hours.
