Baraja, the creator of the groundbreaking Spectrum ScanTM LiDAR technology for autonomous vehicle, has reached an advanced development agreement with a major automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to develop its next-generation Spectrum HD25 LiDAR products specifically for automotive integration. Baraja said that it has signed the agreement with its partner, Veoneer, the first tier auto supplier, to speed up the scale required for auto integration.

This advanced development agreement is an important step in the automotive integration of Spectrum HD25 products. It brings together the world leaders in the field of automotive safety and shows that Spectrum HD25 has the support of first-class, OEM and partners. According to the agreement, Baraja will enter the next development stage of Spectrum HD25.

The Spectrum HD25 marks a leap forward in the generation of automotive laser radar. It is built on Baraja's proprietary Spectrum ScanTM solid state scanning platform. The platform is designed from scratch, completely rethinking how cars see the world around them, so as to achieve real automatic driving. This lidar system achieves the range, resolution and performance required for true autopilot, without the traditional tradeoffs faced by other traditional lidar technologies. The company said that Spectrum HD25 is the first LiDAR system in the world to combine the Doppler capability of each point with Spectrum ScanTM and Random Modulation Continuous Wave (RMCW) ranging methods on the hardware level, providing unparalleled performance and accuracy in ranging and speed.

"Veoneer spent a lot of time evaluating the engineering samples of Baraja's lidar technology. This will include Doppler at every point because we are ready to test the spectrum HD25 production system." Joseph Notaro, chief commercial officer of Baraja, added: "This is an important milestone for Baraja, and we will continue to consolidate the power of our technology in the scale of cars. The continuous cooperation with Veoneer and with a global automobile company has played an important role in our success, and we look forward to everything in the near future."

Emil Hallstig, senior vice president of Lidar in Veoneer's product area, said: "Veoneer initially chose to cooperate with Baraja after extensive evaluation of 70 LiDAR technology companies worldwide. The choice of Baraja was based on its powerful technology and product roadmap, which makes it one of the smallest lidar technologies and enables large-scale vehicle integration."

Since their cooperation, Baraja and Veoneer have worked closely to establish a strong partnership and provide LiDAR technology to global automotive companies.
