Design issues for my project

I have orders for some coasters. I’m using a 10w laser. I select the coaster drawing and I unlocked the size. When I input the size in both with and height. I lock the paddle lock. I then move the object with my mouse. Why does the size change?

Also when I select the object I’m engraving and click on FRAME, I have to reselect the same object to move it even though it was already selected? Once I select the object to engrave then click on FRAME, I can’t move the drawing until I reselect it again.
Also I designed a coaster for a customer. I look at it in the preview window and it looks perfect. When I engrave and cut it out. The cut line is not where it’s supposed to be. The entire cut is up about half an inch. How to correct that.

      The “lock” icon only locks aspect ratio, not size or position. Move without changing size by dragging the center handle only. Every other handle has a different use (skew, rotate, scale, bend).

There are individual lock toggle for those handles at the bottom left of you wish to disable one or several. Ie, disable skew and scale, but keep position unlocked. You can also lock selected shapes thru the shape properties window, but this locks all. Useful for tool/guide/template/construction geometry.

Are you using the arrow keys to move the object? If so, the frame command moved focus from the object in the design space window to the laser control window. The system doesn’t know your intent to change focus until you give it direction by clicking on something.

The unexpected lasing result will require pictures and more details to diagnose.
