In the third quarter alone, the revenue of LPKF Laser in this quarter increased by 31% year on year to 31.3 million euros, slightly higher than expected. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) was € 800000, at the top of the guidance range.
In terms of orders, the order amount of LPKF Laser in the first three quarters was 73.1 million euros (the whole year of 2021: 89.6 million euros). However, this amount does not include any major project orders from the solar sector. As of September 30, 2022, the company's orders in hand were 48.8 million euros, of which about 30 million euros will be delivered in the current fiscal year.
High level evaluation
Christian Witt, chief financial officer of LPKF Laser, said: "Despite the challenges in the surrounding environment, we still achieved our performance goals in the first three quarters and maintained confidence in the outlook forecast for fiscal year 2022. We eased the supply chain disruption to a large extent and ensured delivery to customers as planned. We are ready to continue this path."
Despite the severe macroeconomic environment, LPKF Laser has made a lot of progress in business and company development. In June this year, LPKF Laser introduced the laser transfer printing (LTP) technology at Glasstec, a glass industry exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany, in 2022. LTP is a digital printing solution of ceramic ink, which can transfer color to flat glass with unprecedented accuracy. In addition, the Tensor ultra fast beam guidance technology launched this year has successfully won a large number of orders, and the delivery of the first batch of LIDE display panel solutions has also started.
Dr. Klaus Fiedler commented: "I am glad that we can continue to maintain a positive momentum of development and gain good market appeal with our own technology and solutions. This is in many of our core business areas and our current growth areas (LIDE and ARRALYZE) Both are obvious. With stronger customer focus and continuous cooperation, we are gradually entering the field of mass application and making progress. "
It is reported that the first batch of ARRALYZE systems will be delivered to three beta test customers in the fourth quarter of this year as planned. In addition, ARRALYZE has been able to provide funding for research on innovative medical technologies, which is part of the consortium of research projects of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research on the prevention and care of epidemic infections.
Performance Outlook
In the context of the current political and economic environment, LPKF Laser's ability to plan and predict business development is obviously limited. The Board of Directors of the Group lowered its expectation for the whole year of 2022. It is estimated that the Group's revenue will be EUR 117 million - EUR 127 million, and the profit margin before interest and tax will be 2% - 7%.
In the latest financial report call, LPKF Laser reiterated the market potential of its technology and maintained confidence in the growth prospects of its existing core businesses and new business plans LIDE and ARRALYZE. In the medium term, LPKF Laser aims to achieve attractive growth in its core businesses, drive new businesses to achieve a million euros revenue, and achieve double-digit EBIT margins.
