Recently, Emerson, the global leader in industrial automation, launched the all-new Branson ™ The GLX-1 laser welding machine, with its outstanding flexibility and innovative technology, accurately meets the urgent market demand for connecting small, complex or delicate plastic components. Its compact volume and modular design make it easy to integrate into the ISO-8 cleanroom environment, while the integrated automation controller simplifies the installation process and achieves seamless integration with production robots.

The GLX-1 laser welding machine is particularly outstanding in small component applications in the medical market, as it can accurately and flexibly design and connect three-dimensional contour components such as catheters and wearable devices with microfluidic components. In addition, it is widely used in the electronics, automotive, and electrical markets, providing efficient welding solutions for precision components such as sensors.

It is worth mentioning that the new welding machine can not only connect high-performance and mixed polymers, but also safely handle components with complex 3D joint geometries or pre assembled components, without any thermal or vibration damage throughout the process. The welding process has no flashes or part markings, ensuring the cleanliness and aesthetics of the part appearance.

In response to the call from device manufacturers for closed-loop product recycling, the GLX-1 is specially equipped with a "non welding" function, which can safely and non-destructive disassemble plastic components in ordinary medical and wearable devices. This innovative technology not only helps to recycle and reuse valuable internal components, but also greatly enhances sustainability and effectively reduces waste.

Emma Wood, Global Product Manager for Emerson Non Ultrasonic, said, "As the market continues to demand smaller and more complex high-quality plastic components, we have launched the GLX-1 laser welding machine. This welding machine achieves sturdy, clean welding and advanced connection functions in a compact package, allowing manufacturers to design higher quality products and achieve efficient production."

The GLX-1 welding machine adopts Emerson's unique synchronous transmission infrared technology ® STTlr laser welding technology, with excellent production efficiency, welding strength, and aesthetics, surpasses other plastic welding methods. Its Branson ™ The high-power laser library can provide a configurable power level of up to 250 watts, ensuring stable and reliable welding effects.

Advanced servo driven actuators provide precise, repeatable, and closed-loop downforce control for welding machines, making it easy to handle both low and high pressure levels. Meanwhile, its fast welding cycle time supports large-scale, high-quality production in various applications. Through the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) function, the welding machine can identify and match welding formulas and correct production tools, ensuring efficient and accurate tool switching.

The GLX-1 laser welding machine also performs well in terms of connectivity and safety. Its data collection, transmission, and security functions simplify the transmission of welding data on internal customer networks. The operation and safety functions are accessed through the intuitive and easy-to-use 12 inch touch screen human-machine interface of the welding machine, which is installed on the rotating vertical arm, making it convenient for users to view at the best angle.

At the same time, the welding machine also has a 99 level customizable password protection to ensure safe operation. In addition, it can easily connect to factory networks, meet industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) or communication requirements, provide compatibility with data interface gateways (DIG) and fieldbus interface gateways, as well as USB ports and OPC-UA interfaces.
