Beamer Laser Marking Systems, a division of ARCH Cutting Tools, announced that it has acquired DPSS Lasers Inc., a manufacturer of high-power solid-state ultraviolet lasers. The hope is to enable a richer generation of innovative technologies in defense, security, medical and industrial applications.
Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, DPSS Lasers manufactures high-power, 355nm ultraviolet (UV) solid-state lasers, as well as ultraviolet integrated systems. The company has become the world's leading supplier of quasi-continuous wave 355nm solid-state lasers.

Beamer Laser Marking Systems, headquartered in Michigan, is a manufacturer of industrial grade modular fiber laser marking machines serving the medical, aerospace, defense, firearms, automotive and general industrial markets. A rapidly growing full-service laser marking machine manufacturer, Beamer has a second facility in Kentucky and manufacturing representation throughout the United States. The company is committed to providing easy-to-use software that provides support throughout the product lifecycle, as well as a variety of standard, online and highly engineered solutions for large and small part marking.
"Proud to welcome the DPSS team to the ARCH family!" said Jeff Cederstrom, Division President of ARCH Cutting Tools. We see growth opportunities in the growing industry of laser marking. We look forward to learning and sharing knowledge about our industry, customers and applications as we work together to grow our business, and we are excited to serve our customers in our market on a broader regional scale."
Nicholas Kaczmarski, National Sales Manager, Beamer Laser Marking Systems, commented, "I am very excited about this new partnership between Beamer and DPSS. The merger will expand our portfolio of Laser Marking products, enable DPSS to offer more tailored solutions, and enable Beamer Laser Marking Systems to incorporate low-power UV technology in their standard machines. We will leverage our knowledge base to provide leading edge technology in both high and low power UV and industrial infrared solutions."
Alex Laymon, President of DPSS Lasers, added, "DPSS Lasers and I are very excited and eager to be a part of the ARCH family. We believe there will be significant synergies between Beamer and DPSS to provide our customers with a broader range of infrared and ultraviolet laser products and processes."
