2023-05-23Speed an acceleration values are kind of hand in hand… The faster you want the head to move, the longer the time and the more distance it will move before reaching that speed, if it does. You can simulate this in the preview by enabling shows traversal moves option. Lightburn calculates this from the values in devices settings → additional settings. You will see a large change in overscan… You can change these, but their purpose is to protect the machine. If you pick up some .lbrn file, like from my machine that can run 1650mm/s, it could damage your machine. These values put a speed limit on how fast the machine is allowed to move and how fast it can do that… These are acceleration values usually in mm/s2. You can tune your machine to be as fast as possible, there are numerous videos on how to do it, but it’s a lot of work… Educational but a lot of work. I tuned my first cnc3018 and it walked all over the table and about beat itself and the table to death… I returned it to basically the original state… Ensure you keep a copy of the original configuration. You can save it from the machine settings gui. If you have too much acceleration, it will sound terrible, but really isn’t hurting anything … fields are moving faster than the mechanics can keep up with… Good luck
