Trimble has announced the X9 3D Laser Scanning System, a versatile reality capture solution for surveying, construction and engineering users. The X9 is designed to improve performance in more environments while leveraging Trimble's X-Drive technology for automatic instrument calibration, measurement-level self-tuning and laser designators for geographic registration.

The X9 expands on the Trimble X7 to provide longer range, higher accuracy, shorter scan times and sensitivity for improved scan results. Advanced processing and high-performance lasers increase the sensitivity of all scans, enabling the X9 to capture dark or reflective surfaces that are difficult to capture. The new central unit design also improves signal transmission for better scan quality.

X9 delivers accurate and reliable data to make confident decisions in the field and in the office by minimizing the need for targeted deployments and by registering on site using Trimble Perspective and FieldLink software. Automatic calibration eliminates the need for annual calibration.

In addition, the X9 includes measurement-level automatic leveling with the industry's widest compensation range for fast and easy setup.

X9 data can be transferred directly from Perspective or FieldLink software to Trimble's office software - including Realworks 3D scanning software - Business Center Office, SketchUp, and Tekla. Or export to an industry standard format to generate application-specific deliverables.
