Recently, Amada Weld Tech, a supplier of welding and cutting solutions, announced the launch of a Sigma LS laser micromachining subsystem. It is reported that this is a femtosecond laser integrated module, which is very suitable for precision micromachining of metals and metal alloys, polymers, ceramics and glass.

Sigma LS second laser micro processing system has a compact volume and is designed and developed for machine manufacturers and system integrators, outsourcing manufacturers, workshops and research and development laboratories.

Sigma LS laser micromachining subsystem can provide processing solutions for a wide range of femtosecond laser micromachining applications, which often require optimal quality, minimum thermal effect, high stability and dimensional accuracy. It is reported that these applications mainly include stainless steel casing drilling, metal selective polymer ablation, ceramic microfluidic drilling, and processing of metal/polymer/ceramic material parts.

This subsystem is very easy to integrate, with pre installed sensitive lasers and optical components, providing optimized applications and laser processes. Amada Weld Tech provides on-site installation support and application training, as well as guidance on tool and part handling.

At present, Sigma LS second laser micromachining system provides 5-40W infrared (IR) and green wavelength options, including air-cooled and water-cooled lasers.

The system has a rigid aluminum structure and a protective sheet metal shell. The control panel that is easy to operate makes it easy to connect and interact with ordinary industrial control systems. In addition, sensitive optical elements are placed in a positive pressure environment to prevent contamination.

The current detector scanning head has multiple lens options for accurate and high-speed beam transmission. The configured scanner and laser control software provide a graphical user interface (GUI) tailored to the application. Finally, Sigma LS is also configured with an optional fixed optical focusing head and up axis and off axis vision options.
