Differences in the configuration of chillers between fiber laser cutting machines and CO2 laser cutting machines

C
    • Fiber laser cutting machine and CO2 laser cutting machine are two common cutting equipment, the former is mostly used for metal cutting, and the latter is mostly used for non-metal cutting. What is the difference between the cutting principle of these two types of cutting machines and the selection of cutting machine chillers?

The fiber laser cutting machine uses a fiber laser as the light source. The high-energy and high-density laser beam output by the laser is concentrated on the surface of the workpiece, causing the area illuminated by the ultra-fine focal spot on the workpiece to instantly melt and vaporize, achieving rapid cutting. The CO2 laser cutting machine uses a carbon dioxide laser tube to emit light, which is refracted by a reflector and transmitted to the laser head. Then, the focusing mirror installed on the laser head converges the light into a point. At this time, the temperature reaches a very high level, and the material is instantly sublimated into gas to achieve the purpose of cutting.

Fiber laser cutting machines have significant advantages compared to CO2 laser cutting machines. Fiber laser cutting machines have advantages in beam quality, cutting speed, and cutting stability, and have a longer service life. The service life of key components can reach 100000 hours.

These two types of laser cutting machines have differences in cutting methods and cutting materials, as well as differences in the selection of industrial water-cooling equipment for cooling.

Fiber laser cutting machine requires a high cooling capacity chiller to simultaneously cool the laser and cutting head components due to the high output rate and fast cutting speed of fiber laser, resulting in more heat. But these two components have different temperature requirements, and the laser requires lower temperatures than the cutting head. The fiber laser chiller can easily meet this requirement, with one chiller, two independent cooling systems, low-temperature cooling laser, high-temperature cooling cutting head, non-interference, and synchronous cooling.

CO2 laser cutting machines can use ordinary single cycle water chillers to ensure sufficient cooling capacity to meet the refrigeration requirements, or choose dual cycle water chillers to cool two CO2 laser cutting machines separately, saving costs and reducing installation space.
