CCD stands for charge coupled device, which is an image sensor used in cameras. CCD cameras refer to cameras that use CCD technology as an image sensor. Due to the widespread application of such cameras in the industrial field, manufacturing professionals have long referred to industrial cameras as CCD, and later continued to widely refer to visual technology as CCD. CCD laser marking actually means visual laser marking.

Although CCD laser marking may be referred to as camera based, the main difference in reality is the use of a visual laser marking control system. Compared to ordinary laser marking technology, the visual laser marking system has obvious advantages in these aspects:

Accuracy: The visual control system can accurately identify the processing object and control the error within about 0.1-0.05mm. After accurately positioning the processing object, the control system calculates the specific processing direction, and the laser can accurately illuminate the set position.

Efficiency: The visual system can automatically recognize the processing objects that enter the camera's field of view, thus starting marking and processing, directly from loading to processing, eliminating the step of workpiece sorting and eliminating the need for additional fixtures or dials, saving manpower and improving processing efficiency.

Flexibility: CCD laser marking can change processing tasks at any time. Simply change the processing plan in the control system, and the system will automatically recognize new processing objects according to the settings, eliminating the need for manual verification, greatly improving flexibility.

Unmanned: Equipped with a visual control system, operators no longer need to constantly monitor the operation of the machine, and a workshop only requires a small number of technical personnel to conduct regular inspections to operate smoothly, greatly improving the level of automation.

Although CCD laser marking has obvious advantages in various aspects, the deployment cost is also more expensive compared to ordinary equipment, and the technical level of operators is required to be higher. When choosing a processing method, we should still consider our own budget and processing needs comprehensively.
