Common faults and their solutions of the fourth axis

In order to produce highly precise products, the fourth axis accurately defines the motion of the worktable and cutting tools of the machine tool, especially the spatial position of the worktable and cutting tools, using coordinate values, and describes the motion in multidimensional space using digital information.

Common fault diagnosis of the fourth axis:
1. Transmission interruption caused by synchronous belt breakage. Replacing the synchronous belt will restore it.

2. Excessive wear of various transmission components such as synchronous belts, pulleys, and shafts (the tooth profile of synchronous belts or pulleys has been worn out), resulting in the inability to transmit motion. Replacing the synchronous belt and pulley can restore its function.

3. If the flexible wheel in the harmonic reducer breaks and causes transmission interruption, replacing the harmonic reducer can restore it.

4. The transmission components of gear reducers, worm gear reducers, planetary gear reducers, and cycloidal pinwheel reducers break and wear excessively (the tooth profile of the gear, worm, or worm wheel has been worn out), resulting in severe plastic deformation and transmission interruption. Replace excessively worn or broken transmission components or replace the entire reducer unit.

5. Components that rely on keys (flat keys, splines, semi-circular keys) to transmit torque may experience transmission interruption due to excessive wear of the keys. Simply replace the key to restore the function. If there is no key transmission, the combination of inner and outer expansion sleeves is used to clamp the transmission components for energy or motion transmission. At this point, if the expansion sleeve becomes loose, the transmission will be immediately interrupted. Re tighten the inner and outer expansion sleeves to eliminate the malfunction.
