On October 20, Coherent, the leader of advanced laser processing solutions, announced the launch of the next generation of flat cutting laser head series, with its ultra-high power rating reaching 30kW.

At present, the output power of industrial lasers has reached the level of ten thousand watts. While accelerating the cutting speed of thick metal sheets, the market has increasingly high requirements for laser cutting heads. This 30kW laser cutting head will be displayed at EuroBLECH, Hanover, Germany, from October 25 to 28, becoming the latest proof of meeting the market demand at this level.

There are three versions of the next generation BIMO-FSC3 cutting head series products released by Coherent, each of which has been optimized for one of the following applications: ultra-high laser power output up to 30 kW, efficient ring laser beam management, and reliable operation in harsh environments.

For this new product launch, Dr. Karlheinz Gulden, Senior Vice President of Coherent Laser Components and Subsystems Business Unit, said: "The BIMO-FSC3 cutting head series is based on a field proven design. We have systematically improved the design in the past decades to continuously promote the development and evolution of the sheet metal cutting industry. The mature experience accumulated by Coherent is the basis for the product to complement each other in performance, reliability, serviceability and user-friendly operation."

It is reported that BIMO-FSC3-Z-HP can handle laser power up to 30kW, with high sensing ability and large focusing depth. It can not only maintain the high quality and consistency of cutting super large metal sheets, but also bring about ultra fast cutting speed.

Coherent said in the new product release that BIMO-FSC3-L can handle laser power up to 20kW, with large numerical aperture, and is an ideal choice for ring laser beam and its related applications. BIMO-FSC3-Z can handle laser power up to 12kW, and has passed the IP-65 certification, which can withstand the worst environment.
