The high exhaust pressure of the chiller is mainly due to the high condensation pressure, rather than the compressor itself, and the most critical factor for the high condensation pressure is poor heat exchange in the condenser. The main cause of this malfunction is:

(1) Low cooling water (or air) flow rate and high temperature;
(2) There is air in the system, which increases the condensation pressure;
(3) Excessive refrigerant charge results in the liquid occupying the effective condensation area;
(4) The condenser is in disrepair for a long time, with severe fouling on the heat transfer surface, leading to an increase in condensation pressure. The presence of scale has a significant impact on condensation pressure.

 

The low exhaust pressure of the chiller is caused by a small or even stopped refrigerant flow rate in the refrigeration system pipeline. The main reasons are:
(1) Ice blockage or dirt on the expansion valve, as well as clogged filters, can cause a decrease in suction and exhaust pressures;
(2) Insufficient refrigerant charge;
(3) The expansion valve hole is blocked, causing a decrease or cessation of liquid supply, resulting in a decrease in both suction and exhaust pressures.
