This round of financing is led by Shenzhen Dingxin Capital, followed by Nanjing Innovation Investment Group, and the funds raised will be used for the R&D, production and industrialization of full-femtosecond myopia correction surgical device.
In 2022, Xianwei Vision was jointly founded by life optoelectronics scientists, ophthalmologists and serial entrepreneurs of Wuhan National Research Center for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, focusing on the application research of femtosecond laser in ophthalmic surgery and biomaterial processing. Xianwei Vision has set up research and development centers in Nanjing and Wuhan. Its first commercial product, the full-femtosecond laser corneal refractive surgery device, originated from the technical transformation of Wuhan National Research Center for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Professor Zeng Shaoqun, the chief scientist of Xianwei Vision, is one of the pioneers in the interdisciplinary research of applying femtosecond laser to biomedicine in China. One of its core research achievements, two-photon random scanning imaging technology and instruments and equipment, has achieved femtosecond laser non-inertial fast scanning microscopic imaging and measurement and control. Femtosecond pulse evolution formula and dispersion compensation scheme have been used by scientists in many countries for functional imaging of neural networks, and for femtosecond laser fine three-dimensional processing.
Cao Feng, the general manager of Xianwei Vision, is a continuous entrepreneur who has worked in the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 10 years. He also co-founded Nanjing Puweisen Medical Technology Co., Ltd. in 2017 and obtained the first Class III medical device registration certificate of domestic nerve intervention intermediate catheter in 2019, realizing the commercialization of products and accumulating rich experience in the operation management, registration application, quality management, etc. of medical devices. Ling Lin, deputy general manager and marketing sales, graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University's medical and health MBA, and served as the national sales manager in a number of international top 50 foreign enterprises and fish leap medical ophthalmology companies from 2001 to 2022, with rich experience in market, customer and channel management.
Through the efforts of interdisciplinary scientific researchers led by Professor Zeng Shaoqun, femtosecond laser scanning and imaging technology has gradually evolved to today's all-femtosecond laser refractive surgery equipment of Xianwei Vision, and has made breakthroughs in a number of core technologies. Some technologies have formed their own original intellectual property rights. In addition, on the basis of the basic performance of the product, Xianwei Vision has also been optimized in two aspects: first, the device has added the biomechanical feedback parameters of the cornea; Second, the central positioning of laser for corneal cutting is more scientific and reasonable, and the laser cutting center can be adjusted twice.
