So. I’ve always cut stars with my Ortur Laser Master pro at a speed of 80 and 80 power. Always worked like a charm. Now it’s not cutting thru the basswood. You see a faint line on the backside and that’s it. This is extremely frustrating. Any help would be great.
2024-12-2010330Hi, I have an omtech 80w laser that I’ve had for about 6 months. I’ve been using it a lot more often in the past 2 weeks gearing up for the holidays. I mostly just am curious about maintenance. My machine has suddenly stopped cutting as well: I’ve taken the nozzle apart and cleaned the lens. I’ve cleaned the mirrors as well. Maybe I’m not doing goo...

2024-12-045700I have an S1 and am currently using Lightburn 7.03. In previous forums, there was lengthy discussions about this issue and last May, it was posted that the new Lightburn version 7.0 would fix it. I cam using the current version, and my S1 is still cutting triangles when I put a square around a design to be cut. It finishes cutting the design and th...
2024-11-2112250Any of you out there consistently cut half-inch acrylic? I did it once by trial and error and because my settings were wrong, I actually damaged my edges a little bit. I only have one piece to get one shot at this.I have access to a shared machine, which is 100 W. We have a 4 inch cutting head In which I don’t have that much experience with. Can you...
2024-11-1510220Just curious how the folks here have found using certain places on the X/Y table for placement of the work material ?I noticed, and makes sense, alot of folks use the back left corner to set up a square for dropping in material or maybe a work jig to engrave or cut. This makes sense as this is the best point for the mirror distant and it should fol...
2024-11-117030So I have a Creality Ender 3 S1 Plus with 5W laser module set up. It has not been cutting at its full power, because it cut the same material at the same speeds in Creality Print. So I found out that the S-Value Max setting needs to be set to your machine. My problem is I don’t know what setting to set it to. I’m including a picture of my machine s...

2024-11-096810Hi, can you please advise. Is there any way to ensure that the beginning (3-5 mm) is also cut through when cutting the poplar plywood? I can increase the power or decrease the speed, but then the rest will be pretty burnt. A ramp like a cnc milling machine would be good. Thanks.
2024-11-068330So I just replaced the tube in my machine and got a wattage tester to confirm its output. After a lot of careful testing, I’m finding that it is maxing out at 110ish watts on a 130 watt tube. Because of this, I’m hoping to find a way to do a system wide power scale so that if for a part I need as much power as I can get, I can put it 100% into the ...
2024-11-068310I’m trying to cut a project 3 ft long - so using the print and cut feature. 2024-10-179220So when I engrave or cut the laser moves to the same position it starts from. When I use the rotary and engrave tumblers the laser head goes to a differant position from where it starts. This has changed since I upgraded from 1.6 to 1.7.01. How do I change so laser head parks after engraving in the same position it starts?
2024-10-1111730I built a project and set the cuts/layers speed to 10 and saved the project. I then reselected the project and loaded to the art library. When I bring the project from the art library to the workspace the speed in cuts/layers has changed. I’m using Lightburn 1.7.01 on a windows 10 laptop.
2024-10-1015710We are setting up a laser machine to carve copper; From the first test, for example, by digging a small square at 0 degrees, a Z-dip angle of approximately 10-15 degrees can be obtained. What parameters should we use for perfect straight line cutting?
